Story Overview
Why Him? My Thoughts
What I Liked
- Performances: James Franco is funny and really owns Laird’s wild personality. Bryan Cranston does a great job as Ned, showing both humor and heart.
- Comedy: There are lots of moment that made me laugh like especially during awkward family interactions.
- Family Conflict: The arguments and misunderstandings seem so unserious which makes it funnier.
- Sweet Moments: There are real moments of love, family, and acceptance even with the goofiness.
What I Didn’t Like
Plot: I wish there were more twists to keep the story surprising but Why Him? is still really funny.

I really enjoyed Why Him? because it’s chaotic, goofy, and full of moments that are so ridiculous they feel funny in a good way. The jokes are sometimes silly or stupid, but that’s what makes them work. The clashes between Ned and Laird kept me laughing throughout the movie. I loved every moment of it, but I wish there were more surprising twists. It’s a lighthearted comedy that doesn’t take itself seriously, and I left the movie smiling.
