My Thoughts

What I Liked

  • Performances: I liked Goreng’s acting; it made the story feel real and showed the horror and disgust of life in the Pit.
  • Human Behavior: The movie showed how people act under pressure including greed and cooperation.

  • Reflection: I liked how it made me think about morality and survival if I were to put myself in that position

What I Didn’t Like

  • Graphic Content: I didn’t like the scenes where people eat human flesh. It was really gruesome and disgusting.
  • Ending: I didn’t like the open-ended finale; it left me a bit unsure about what happened.

My Rating

★★★☆☆ (3/5 stars)

The Platform is a dark and disturbing thriller that looks at human nature through a shocking and unique idea. The vertical prison and moving food platform create a dangerous setting where you never know what will happen next. Goreng’s journey shows how desperation can bring out the worst in people, and some scenes are truly shocking and intense. At the same time, the movie can feel repetitive, and many side characters aren’t fully developed which makes it harder to connect with the story. The extreme violence and grim tone can be overwhelming, and the ending leaves some questions unanswered. Despite these flaws, the film is memorable and bold, giving a clear look at human behavior in extreme situations.
